Alzheimer: the adventure has started !		 March 2009

On 28th March 2009, the adventure took off. After a two year preparation programme and the 1 year delay due to political unrest, the expedition members are going to fly to Kathmandu to intent to climb the highest mountain in the world (8848m).

Mount Everest 2009 Expedition against
Alzheimer		 January 2009

Avenir Telecom is one of the official sponsors of « MOUNT EVEREST EXPEDITION 2009 » which will depart 28th March 09 (for 2 months), from Marseille to the Himalaya, to climb the highest mountain in the world using the south west Nepalese side – the 1st one chosen by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, in their 1953 expedition.

This adventure will be the communication vector for an information campaign on life difficulties encountered by people suffering from Alzheimer and by those surrounding them, in their daily life. You will also be able to follow the climbing team, live, via their blog on www.everest 2009.fr, and exchange impressions on what they are living, by talking directly with the climbers.

Jean Daniel Beurnier – Avenir Telecom President was awarded one of the 5 Economic Trophy, in Marseille, at the Regional Chamber of Commerce, on 18th November 08. This celebrates the best ‘provencale’ corporate entities of the year.During this 13th celebration, he also received the prestigious ‘Entrepreneur Award of the Year 08’ for his incredible career path, pre-empting, ahead of anyone else, technological changes to be in the telecom market, that were/are making all technologies to converge around the mobile telephone handset. This is a source of inspiration in those uncertain economic times.Furthermore, these prizes are only awarded once the companies concerned have path all financial and economical criteria set by the organising committee.
Avenir Telecom teams-up with Treenation.

Treenation - an organisation backed-up by the U.N.E.P (United Nation Environment Programme), in relation with its current international 'Plant a Billion Trees Campaign', has the objective to plant 8 million trees per year, in Niger (Africa), to fight against desertification.
Via this new partnership, the Avenir Telecom Group wishes to embark upon an " eco-friendly " business approach, selling more and more recyclable phone accessories.
With this in mind, as an initial start, each Treenation product created and sold by Avenir Telecom will give customers the opportunity to have a tree planted, in their name, in Africa, each time they buy one of those.
This will definitely help contribute towards the process of getting consumers more environmentally conscious.

From now on - thanks to Avenir Telecom, you can dress-up your mobile phones with self-adhesive stickers that can easily be repositioned, with a 3D protective effect, allowing you to personalise your handsets.
Therefore, not only will these stickers protect your phones against damages and breakages, but will also allow you to get noticed and express whom you are, matching your moods and circumstances.
The adhesive formula has been specifically engineered as to not damage or mark your telephone.

Fashion Collection: successful launch to the Mobile World Congress

Avenir Telecom chose a distinctive concept for their stand at the Mobile World Congress. Every collection had access to a dedicated space at the heart of which the products were presented: A Modern and innovative spirit to mark oXo, humorous graphics for Kukuxumusu, an Australian ambience for Roadsign and a feminine and intermate space for Lollipops.
Colorful, different, warm, the Avenir Telecom stand constituted a true point of attraction within the Hall 2. The quality and originality of these products definitely convinced the number of visitors, among which purchasers from the largest hypermarkets and chain of stores, that the fashion accessories have great sales potential on the mobile phone market.

FINANCE : Net profits increased by 21.3% (First half consolidated results 2007/2008) November 26th, 2007
The Avenir Telecom Group recorded a 3% increase in sales in the first half of the 2007/2008 financial year to €338.4m after very strong results in the second quarter, up 14.4% to €187.2m.
This performance derived from the strength of the two distribution channels, wholesale and retail, product ranges which were both broader and perfectly targeted at the various customer segments, and the growth of the Internity store portfolio in Europe.

The Avenir Telecom Group has recorded an excellent performance on a rolling 12 month basis. In spite of a decline in sales of 8.5% to €688.5m, gross profit margin improved by 3.0 percentage points to 19% and operating profit margin rose by 0.4 percentage points to 2.8%.
