The principle of digital convergence, now highly fashionable, has since 1998 been a core driver behind the development of the Internity stores concept.
Avenir Telecom, indeed, anticipated the evolution of digital technologies and the emergence of "all in one" mobile multimedia solutions (mobile telephones with photo, video, game functions, television...) which we believe will eventually lead to the end of the compartmentalisation of the worlds of mobile telephony, multimedia, digital images, video games, television, internet and home-automation.
The infrared wireless transmission technologies – Bluetooth, WI-FI, WI-MAX and UMTS – have also opened up endless possibilities for mobility and digital convergence. |
